Emily Irene VanCamp who initially wanted to become professional dancer, became interested in acting after visiting her sister Katie on the set of the film Ladies Room. Her acting career began when she started taking classes. In addition, she was offered the opportunity to appear in shows from her home country of Canada. The shows that she had appeared in, besides other shows included: Are You Afraid of the Dark? Radio Active and Dice. VanCamp achieved a major breakthrough when he was cast in the WB horror/mystery television show Glory Days as Sam Dolan. The show was cancelled after nine episodes despite receiving good reviews. Actually, she was quick to secure a new role Amy Abbott on Everwood. The role she played in the film earned her 4 Teen Choice Awards nominations and the Young Artist Award.
